Due to popular demand, Melody Makers, Inc. will open its second location at 104 Discovery in Irvine, California. This location is the new headquarters for the growing company. The first Orange County location, Melody Makers Newport Beach, was opened in 2008 and is located at 3109 Villa Way in Newport Beach, California, on the Balboa Peninsula.
A celebration is planned at the new location this Saturday, April 14, from 3:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. Billed as a “Family Affair,” this grand opening event will include live music, karaoke and refreshments, dancing, singing, face painting and more. All current and prospective students and their families as well as the general public are invited to attend. The brand new performer’s studio will be open for touring.
In addition to launching this new, larger and more centralized location, Melody Makers, Inc. also has announced the availability this summer of its first-ever music scholarships that have been made possible through the generous efforts of fundraisers and private donations which will culminate this June at a Masquerade Ball. These full scholarships will provide an opportunity for several children to study at one of the most successful voice and music studios in Orange County and to prepare for a career in songwriting, music production and recording with hands-on training from industry experts. More information about these scholarships will be available during the grand opening event.
Melody Makers, Inc.
Melody Makers, Inc. is a child-centered performer’s studio offering voice, dance and music lessons to aspiring singers, songwriters, and performers that focus on the artists’ development by giving personal, one-on-one training which is unique to every member.
Classes are tailored for beginners through professionals. In addition to instruction, Melody Makers Inc. maintains a state-of-the-art digital recording studio at its Newport Beach location where aspiring artists have the ability to produce professional recordings. It is also where its NEW SCHOOL KIDS JAMZ projects are also produced there.
Melody Makers, Inc. founder, Melanie Andrews, is a multi-platinum master songwriter/vocal arranger/producer with songs that have sold millions of copies. As the granddaughter of world-renowned trumpet player Snooky Young, Andrews created a stir in the music world when she became one of the youngest female co-writers in the industry after winning the BMI Pop Music Award for “Let’s Wait Awhile” (made popular by Janet Jackson which sold more than 10 million copies) as well as the BMI Millionaires Award. This award is given when your music has been broadcasted on radio or television more than one million times.
This early success landed her a five-year deal with the powerhouse publishing company, Famous Music, (a Paramount Picture Company). After spearheading numerous successful songs and artists, Melanie created her own production/publishing company. Melanie also co-wrote/produced numerous hits with R&B group Earth Wind and Fire, and for such esteemed labels as: A&M Records, Virgin Records, Warner Bros., MCA Records and Mo Jazz/Motown. Melanie’s most current project is NEW SCHOOL KIDS JAMZ, on her record label. This wholesome and kid-friendly original music series has been very well received and a second CD of new music will be available for purchase and download on iTunes soon.
“We are so pleased to be announcing this move to a larger location and the availability of a scholarship program for aspiring artists,” said Andrews. “This growth is welcome news for Melody Makers, Inc. because it will greatly benefit our students and their families by providing more opportunities with a newer and more centralized location. This is an exciting time for us and we look forward to sharing this enthusiasm during our grand opening event on April 14th.”
